Michelle Laxalt

Michelle Laxalt is a multidisciplinary artist working in ceramics, textiles, and on paper.

Laxalt holds an MFA from Georgia State University, where she was a distinguished Welch Fellow, and a BFA from the University of Nevada, Reno (her hometown). Her visceral artwork explores the corporeal similarities and vulnerabilities we share with other living beings. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and has been an artist-in-residence at the Hambidge Center, Vermont Studio Center, and Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.

Laxalt is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Art History and Curatorial studies at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where she resides.
